Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles with Creamy Coating
Satisfy your sweet tooth with these luscious truffles that taste just like cookie dough, but in bite-sized bliss!
Ingredients:
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1/3 cup brown sugar
– 1/3 cup granulated sugar
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 cup milk
– 1/2 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for garnish)
– 200g chocolate (for coating)
Instructions:
1. Start by toasting the flour. Spread it evenly on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes to ensure it’s safe to eat. Allow it to cool completely.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Incorporate the vanilla extract and salt thoroughly.
3. Gradually add the cooled flour to the bowl, alternating with the milk. Mix until a soft dough forms, then fold in the chocolate chips to distribute them evenly throughout.
4. Scoop small portions of the dough and roll them into bite-sized balls. Place these balls on a lined baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
5. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate for coating. You can do this in a microwave in short bursts or over a double boiler until silky smooth.
6. Once the dough balls are cold, dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Return them to the baking sheet and sprinkle with extra chocolate chips while the coating is still wet.
7. Allow the truffles to set in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes, or until the chocolate coating has hardened completely.
