Ingredients
4 cups cornflakes
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup (or golden syrup)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional toppings: sprinkles, shredded coconut, or chopped nuts
Directions:
Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, sugar, and corn syrup together. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth.
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the chocolate chips and vanilla extract until fully melted and combined.
In a large mixing bowl, pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cornflakes. Gently fold the cornflakes until they are evenly coated.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to press it down firmly and evenly.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the slice is firm.
Once set, lift the slice out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Cut into squares or bars and enjoy!
