Oatmeal, Chocolate and Banana Cake
Ingredients for one cake
Oatmeal: 200 g
Ripe bananas: 2
Dark chocolate (preferably at least 70%): 100 g
Honey or natural sweetener of your choice: 50 g
Egg: 1
Baking powder: 1 sachet
A pinch of salt
Preparation
Start by mashing the ripe bananas in a large bowl. Use a fork to obtain a smooth puree without lumps. Add the egg to the banana puree and mix well with a whisk or spoon until the mixture is smooth. This will be the foundation of your cake, which will give it natural sweetness and softness.
Next, add the oatmeal, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Mix well with a wooden spoon or spatula to combine the dry ingredients with the wet ones. The oat flakes will be the base of your cake, giving it a rustic and nutritious texture.
Now melt the dark chocolate. You can do it in a bain-marie or in the microwave, being careful not to burn it. Once melted, add it to the mixture together with the honey (or other natural sweetener you prefer). Mix well to ensure that the chocolate and honey are evenly distributed throughout the preparation, making the mixture even richer and more delicious.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. In the meantime, prepare a medium-small sized pan, greasing the bottom and sides with butter or covering it with baking paper. Pour the mixture into the pan, leveling the surface with a spatula to obtain an even layer.
Bake the cake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the surface becomes golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Each oven is different, so it is always better to test with a toothpick to be sure it is cooked.
Let the cake cool before serving. This cake is perfect for a healthy breakfast or a tasty snack, thanks to the combination of nutritious and tasty ingredients.
Enjoy!
